Escalators, elevators at MRT-3 stations temporarily unavailable amid heavy rains

The elevators and escalators in several MRT-3 stations are currently temporarily unavailable due to the bad weather, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Sunday.

In an advisory, the following conveyances are unavailable for now:

● Elevator (Northbound and Southbound) and Escalator (SB) at North Avenue Station

● Elevator (NB and SB) at Escalator (NB) at Boni Station

● Elevator (NB and SB) at Guadalupe Station

● Escalator (SB) and Elevator (SB) at Buendia Station

● Escalator (SB) at Ayala Station

● Elevator (NB and SB) and Escalator (NB) at Magallanes Station

● Elevator (SB) at Taft Avenue Station

"We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding," the DOTr-MRT-3 said.

Meanwhile, the escalators and elevators at GMA Kamuning Station and Ortigas Stations are already operational.

PAGASA said monsoon rains are expected over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Antique will experience occasional rains due to the Habagat. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
