1 killed, 1 hurt in Taguig shooting
A 40-year-old man was killed while another man was injured in a shooting incident along Pulong Kendi Street in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig City early Monday morning.
Based on a police report, the shooting happened around 5:50 a.m.
The fatality was identified as a family rider, while the injured victim was identified as a 21-year-old call center agent.
According to police, a witness heard a gunshot and later saw the 40-year-old man lying on the ground.
Both victims were immediately taken to the hospital but the family rider was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician. The other victim is still confined.
Police said the suspect was an unidentified male who was wearing a black helmet, a blue sweatshirt, and white pants. He was reportedly riding a gray motorcycle.
Responding police officers established a cordon around the area to preserve the crime scene.
The Taguig Police Sub-Station 4 Tracker Team and Intelligence Section also conducted CCTV forward- and backtracking operations to identify the suspect and determine his movements before and after the shooting.
The police also coordinated with the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for the technical aspects of the investigation.
Authorities said the motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.
The case remains under investigation as police conduct follow-up operations to identify, locate, and arrest the suspect. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
