Sara Duterte calls on Marcos to resign: 'Wala siyang utang na loob sa taumbayan'

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday called on President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to step down from office during a rally at the Quezon City Hall following her rescheduled arraignment in relation to her grave threats case.

"Patuloy tayong manawagan ng paglayas ng problema ng ating bayan na ang pangalan ay Bongbong Marcos. Resign! Umalis ka dyan!" Duterte told her supporters.

(Let us continue to clamor that our nation's problem would leave. The name of that problem is Bongbong Marcos. Resign! Leave!)

"Sinungaling ka, abusado ka, wala siyang utang na loob sa taumbayan. Wala siyang utang na loob sa lahat ng pumunta ng presinto para iluklok siya sa pwesto. Wala siyang hiya. Ganoon talaga kapag adik. Hindi na dumadaan sa realidad ang pag-iisip. Patuloy tayong makipaglaban sa mga abusado, sa mga adik, at sa mga korap," she added.

Duterte made the statement after attending her arraignment at Quezon City Hall of Justice for grave threat charges, which was postponed due to a motion filed by her camp.

GMA News Online has requested comment from Malacañang regarding Duterte's threat, but it has yet to respond as of posting time.

Marcos is scheduled to attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India from September 12 to 13.

The Department of Justice on August 11 filed grave threats charges against Duterte in connection with remarks she made in an online press conference in 2024.

Duterte said she already spoke with someone to kill Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and then House speaker Martin Romualdez if anything happened to her.

Her alleged threat is the basis of one of four Articles of Impeachment she is currently facing before the Senate impeachment court. — VDV, GMA News
