Atong Ang escaped PH via 'backdoor' —SILG Remulla

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday confirmed that businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, the alleged mastermind in the disappearances of several sabungeros, is already out of the country.

“Backdoor siya dumaan,” Remulla said in a press briefing.

Last July, the Philippine National Police said that it was still verifying reports that Ang has escaped the country.

Atong Ang is facing charges for kidnapping with homicide, as well as kidnapping and serious illegal detention before the courts of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Lipa, Batangas, and San Pablo, Laguna.
