Remulla: Fake news peddlers want to disrupt institutions, influence courts
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla slammed fake news peddlers, saying that they only want to "disrupt" institutions.
Remulla previously announced that he wanted to file charges against people who spread disinformation about his illness, despite him being cancer-free since 2023.
Speaking on his radio show at DZRH, Remulla spoke about the possible motivation behind the fake news against him.
“Gusto nila, alugin yung institution… Gusto nila influence yung korte. Kaya contemptuous yun,” Remulla said.
(They want to shake the institution… They want to influence the court. That is why that is contemptuous.)
Remulla had previously commented on former House speaker Martin Romualdez’s supposed security aide, where he disclosed that his office has garnered new enemies as well.
“Ang kalaban ng opisina ko ngayon, marami kaming kalaban na DDS (Diehard Duterte Supporters), at mayroon kaming kalaban na galing din sa… loob, sa hanay ng mga nakasama dati,” Remulla said.
(The enemies of my office now, we have a lot of enemies that are DDS, and now we have enemies from… inside, from the side of our allies before… this is rust, those detractors.)
Remulla said that if he was doing what his enemies were doing, it would be unfair to the people who are accused. He would only say that the evidence would speak for itself.
The Ombudsman said that he would let the Department of Information and Communications Technology handle the matter. —VAL, GMA News
