MANILA, Philippines - President Arroyo will inspect Sunday morning the newly established e-library of the National Library in Ermita, Manila, Malacañang said Friday night. A Palace statement said the visit to the e-library coincides with the commemoration of the 98th birth anniversary of her late father, former president Diosdado Macapagal. "Then President Macapagal initiated the construction of the National Library during his term (1961-1965) as a testament to his 'passion for education' which his daughter, President Macapagal-Arroyo, is carrying on with her administration's funding of the e-library project," the statement said. It added this will be the first time that Arroyo and the Macapagal clan will celebrate the birth anniversary of their patriarch outside of the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Sunday's event will start at 10 a.m. at the lobby of the National Library with a commemorative mass, followed by the turnover to Arroyo of a copy of her father's autobiography. Arroyo may also test the e-library website and view the photo exhibit featuring the presidency of her late father. The e-library kiosk at the National Library will allow students to easily access any information, dissertation, thesis or school publication to help them in their school research requirements. More information on it can be accessed at the National Library's website. - GMANews.TV
