MANILA, Philippines – A bar owner will be summoned at the Manila City Council to shed light on an incident at his place where a 23-year-old woman smashed a bottle on the forehead of a 38-year-old businesswoman last September 19. The summons is part of a reinvestigation ordered by Councilor Abel Viceo, who serves in the district where the incident took place. The complainant, Rosario Fukodo, a resident of Mabini Street in Malate, asked Viceo's help. To be summoned is Joseph Garcia, owner of the Socialist Bar in Malate. Viceo wants Garcia to explain why the bouncer, William Vergara, allowed the incident to happen. According to a police report, the businesswoman was at dance floor when she accidentally bumped into Joan Palo, a 23-year-old resident of San Andres Street in Malate. Witnesses told police that Fukodo apologized to Palo. But the younger woman was not easily appeased, and they had a heated argument. The councilor also asked for a reinvestigation of the incident by the Manila Police District. He suspects the younger woman might have had a motive to kill Fukodo. He said the suspect should be charged with serious physical injury and frustrated murder. - GMANews.TV
