2 drown in Pasig River in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - At least two men, one of them a ferry boat pilot, drowned in the Pasig River in Manila in separate incidents, a radio report said early Monday. Radio dzBB’s Louie Garcia reported that Arnulfo dela Peña, 33, a ferry boat pilot, was last seen fixing his boat engine when he was believed to have fallen into the river. His body was found floating at the portion of the Pasig River near Anonas Street in Manila’s Sta. Mesa district. In the second incident, the body of a man was recovered from Isla Puting Bato in the city’s Tondo district. The second victim, who was not immediately identified, was described as 40 to 45 years old, wearing a white T-shirt, denim pants and barefoot. He had “Efren Joaquin" and “Andres" tattoos on the chest, and a wound on the right armpit. - GMANews.TV
