MILF puts up Arabic website

MANILA, Philippines — The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has put up an Arabic website to cater to the needs of Arabic-speaking audiences in the Middle East. An article posted Saturday on the MILF website (www.luwaran.net) said the new site (www.luwaran.net/arabic) was set up last February. The MILF said its first website, www.luwaran.com, was established in 1998, and published one or two news articles, with articles from contributors. But when hackers disrupted the original site in late 2008 at the height of the row over the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain, the MILF set up mirror site www.luwaran.net. "The three websites are under the direct supervision of the chairman of the committee on information. Except for the columns, guest articles, opinion section, quotations, the editorial and other news attributed to the MILF are considered official statement, otherwise, a clarification or correction to the effect is immediately made," the MILF said. - GMANews.TV
