Sex videos like entries in a diary - Hayden lawyer

MANILA, Philippines - Like putting entries in a diary, controversial celebrity doctor Hayden Kho only wanted to document memorable things in his life – like his sexual encounters with women – only for his private viewing. This was the primary reason that drove Kho to secretly film his private moments with his past relationships including with that of sexy actress Katrina Halili, according to the doctor’s lawyer. "[Ang tingin niya kasi] parang private diary ito, where we put our first kiss...our first date," lawyer Lorna Kapunan told radio dzBB on Friday. "He [Kho] documented it the same way people would do a diary. And you know, a diary is where you put the private things that happen to you," she added. But Kapunan said Kho never intended to share the footage to anyone else. Unfortunately, the video eventually found its way to the hands of the public when the footage leaked on the Internet. Authorities are still uncertain who leaked the video, but Kho had already denied being the culprit. The National Bureau of Investigation has already subpoenaed another doctor – Kho’s fraternity brother Eric Johnston Chua – who is believed to have spread the video. Kapunan was the original lawyer of highly-controversial Subic rape victim Suzette “Nicole" Nicolas but was replaced in the middle of 2007 by Evalyn Ursua. On late Thursday, Kho issued an official statement begging for forgiveness for the proliferation of the sex videos. "I deplore the fact that without my knowledge and consent, these recordings were uploaded on the Internet, downloaded, reproduced in optical media form, distributed and sold to the public," he said. "I sincerely apologize for the harm it has done to other parties. I must emphasize that there was no malice on my part, or intention to hurt anyone with these recordings," he added. Hayden said with all the hullabaloo triggered by the video scandal, he has decided to give up medical practice for good. "He was really very repentant," Kapunan said. But victim Katrina told radio dzBB that she was not entirely convinced by Kho’s apology, saying she would still push through with the lodging of complaints against the doctor. "Parang ang hirap naman po ... Di dapat pwersahan po, di lang ganon di lang paghingi ng tawad. Dapat siya [ay] parusahan [I find it difficult to forgive him just like that. And his apology should not be a forced one. That apology should not get him off the hook. He should be punished]," Halili said. On Thursday, Halili went to the Professional Regulation Commission office in Manila and filed a complaint seeking the revocation of Kho’s medical license. The Philippine Medical Association has already expressed outrage over the sex scandal and said Kho stood the chance of losing his membership in the medical group. Reports have said that apart from Kho’s video scandal with Halili and two others women, there still exists around 40 other similar scandalous videos. This was belied by Kho’s lawyer saying the embattled doctor had told her he had no other recorded sexual encounters besides the three that had already been made public. - GMANews.TV
