Spokesperson denies Erap voted no one for VP

The spokesperson of Joseph Estrada on Monday immediately denied rumors that the former Philippine leader did not vote any vice presidential candidate following a supposed rift with running mate, Jejomar Binay. In her Twitter account, Margaux Salcedo posted: "Just spoke with [Estrada] and [San Juan City Mayor JV Ejercito] who was at the precinct with him. There’s a nasty rumor that Erap did not shade [any candidate’s name for] vice president. Not true."

On the homestretch of the campaign, Sen. Francis Escudero came out with his endorsement of Sen. Benigno Aquino III for president and Binay for vice president. Reporters covering Aquino’s campaign also reported that Escudero handed out “Noy-Bi" (Noynoy-Binay) campaign paraphernalia. Aquino’s running mate is Sen. Manuel Roxas II, who could be Escudero’s possible contender for the presidency in 2016. — Sophia Dedace/RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV
