Classes in public schools resume Nov 2, says DepEd

Classes in public elementary and high schools will resume on November 2, the Department of Education (DepEd) said Saturday. "According to DepEd Order 26 (series of) 2010, mid-year break is from Oct 25-29 therefore classes in public schools will resume on Nov 2," the agency said in its Twitter account. Many public schools nationwide were used as polling centers in last Monday's barangay (village) and Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) elections, potentially disrupting classes as school resources were shifted to accommodate the polls. Meanwhile, Malacañang had declared November 2 a regular working day and has yet to accommodate any calls to make the day a non-working holiday. - TJD, GMANews.TV
