'Bebeng' makes landfall; 9 areas under signal 2
Tropical storm "Bebeng" (Aure) made landfall over Northern Catanduanes Sunday and is now heading towards the Quezon-Aurora area. In its 11 a.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said at least nine areas were under Storm Signal 2. As of 10 a.m., PAGASA said Bebeng was some 70 km east-northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. Bebeng was moving west-northwest at 17 kph and is expected to be 70 km north of Baler, Aurora or at 110 km north-northeast of Cabanatuan City Monday morning; 170 km northeast of Aparri, Cagayan Tuesday morning; and 440 km northeast of Basco, Batanes Wednesday morning.
