Philippine beauty is Miss Earth-Water
Miss Earth Philippines Catherine Untalan was named Miss Earth Water in Sundayâs Miss Earth beauty pageant in Manila. Chileâs Hil Yesenia Hernandez Escobar was named Miss Earth 2006 while Venezuelaâs Marianne Puglia Martinez became Miss Earth-Fire. Indiaâs Amruta Patki ranked third and was named Miss Earth-Air. In all, 88 women took part in this yearâs pageant that focused on global warming. The 20-year-old Untalan is a psychology cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. The Miss Earth pageant, now on its sixth year, brought together women from around the world to vie for titles that give beauty a more significant meaning by espousing issues pertaining to the environment.
