P2,000 'Pantawid Pasada' load planned for jeepney drivers
Public utility jeep (PUJ) drivers who have availed of the government's "Pantawid Pasada" fuel subsidy cards may receive a P2,000-reload within two weeks. In an interview over radio dzBB, Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Jose Layug Jr. said on Wednesday, "Dapat within the next two weeks ma-load na natin lahat." However, Layug stressed only those who availed of the Pantawid Pasada cards last year, with a load of P1,050 each, can avail of the P2,000 -reload. Some 95,000 PUJ drivers have availed of the "Pantawid Pasada" card so far, he said. He assured the DOE has enough funds for the reload, saying it still has some P200 million out of the initial P300-million fund for the fuel subsidy. Layug also said there is no plan to give subsidies to tricycle drivers, at least for now. He said tricycle drivers had received a P150 fuel subsidy via the local government units. - VVP, GMA News
