While others were enjoying themselves at the party inside, the mother of Filipino boxing idol Manny Pacquiao was almost barred entry into her son's new house in General Santos City over the weekend. Sun.Star General Santos reported Tuesday that Dionisia Pacquiao was temporarily blocked at her son's P35-million mansion because the guards did not recognize her. The report indicated that the security guards were new and did not immediately recognize Dionisia as the mother of the "people's champ." It was not immediately clear if Pacquiao was informed of the incident, and what his action was. At the time, Pacquiao was celebrating his birthday, the baptism of his daughter Mary Divine Grace, and the blessing of his new house. Guests at the party following the house blessing were mostly celebrities, movie producers, actors and actresses, politicians, and Pacquiao’s coach Freddie Roach. The Sun.Star report said a video of his three-round demolition of Mexican boxer Erik Morales during their bout last November 19 was shown during the party. The merriment reportedly lasted well into the next day. Only last November 24, Dionisia was locked out of the Quiapo Church during a thanksgiving mass for Pacquiao, who at the time had just arrived home from the United States. The organizers did not immediately recognize Dionisia at the tail end of Pacquiao's entourage at the main entrance of the church. She did not get any consideration from the organizers and was eventually "assisted" to the church's side entrance facing Quezon Avenue. However, it was not the only incident Dionisia she had to endure that day, as she was similarly snubbed and left behind by Pacquiao's entourage after paying a courtesy call to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at Malacañang Palace.-GMANews.TV
