The Bureau of Customs is seeking an apology from American talk show host David Letterman and Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch for supposedly maligning the country.   “As a nation, we deserve an apology from them,” said Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon on Monday.   During his interview by Letterman, Kitsch claimed that a Filipino Customs official sought to block him from entering the country and asked for a bribe in exchange.   Kitsch reportedly claimed that when he tried to prove that he is an actor by showing a video of his movie on his iPhone, the official allegedly told him, “Can you get me one of those?” Kitsch supposedly arrived in the country last Feb. 29 for the shooting of his latest movie, Savages, directed by Oliver Stone.   Biazon said there is a possibility that Kitsch had confused the Philippines with Indonesia, where the movie is actually being filmed. “They just have to send a message that Kitsch’s unfortunate experience did not happen here,” he said.   Immigration and Customs records showed that the actor did not arrive in the country.   Biazon said he will send an e-mail to the producers of Late Show with David Letterman asking them to retract their statements against the Philippines.   “A concerned citizen gave me the email address of the Letterman show, where I can send the letter. We are preparing it already,” he said. - KBK, GMA News
