Amid tight security, impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona left a Pasig City hospital at about 12:30 p.m. Friday for the Senate where he was to make a second appearance at his impeachment trial. Corona left aboard an ambulance of The Medical City, where he had been confined since Tuesday night, according to dzBB radio's Benjie Liwanag Jr. Also, a report on "Balitanghali" said Corona's son Francis confirmed that his father had left the hospital. The convoy went against the flow of traffic in Pasig City in heading for the Senate, the dzBB report said. On Tuesday, Corona went to The Medical City after making his first appearance at the impeachment trial, where he gave a lengthy statement. But he also earned the ire of senator judges when he left the session hall without securing their permission. His doctors on Wednesday sought 48 hours to observe his status. On Thursday, Corona signed a waiver clearing his doctors of liability if something happens to him during his appearance at the Senate. — LBG, GMA News
