4 state universities are 'top performers' in mech eng'g board exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said late Tuesday that four state universities and two Catholic universities were the "top performing schools" in the September 2012 mechanical engineer licensure examination, which saw nearly 70 percent of the examinees passing.   Batangas State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (main Sta. Mesa campus), Bicol University (Legazpi campus) and the Manila and Visayas campuses of the Technological University of the Philippines had over 80 percent of the examinees earning passing marks.   Baguio's Saint Louis University and Manila's University of Santo Tomas had 87.50 percent and 84.26 percent passing rates, respectively. UST had the most number of examinees (108) and passers (91) among the top performing schools. The University of the Philippines was not on the 'top performing list' of the PRC because it had only 46 examinees. UP had 42 passers for a 91.30 percent passing rate. As to the performance of individual examinees, two alumni of TUP-Manila were among the topnotchers. Kenneth Tejadilla del Rosario ranked first with a 94.65 percent rating while James Ryan Bongalon Dipad was ranked eighth with 92.95 percent.   TOP PERFORMING SCHOOLS (with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing percentage)
