NDRRMC: 'Bising' affects 13k people, causes at least P1.5M damage

More than 13,000 people were affected by Tropical Depression Bising as it brought rain to Visayas and Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday. In its Saturday update, the NDRRMC said Bising affected 3,620 families or 13,222 people in 57 villages in two cities and seven towns in seven provinces. Of these, 1,880 families or 7,565 people were being served in 25 evacuation centers. The NDRRMC also said the Pagmam-an Bridge in Barangay San Jose in Bislig is not passable due to heavy rain. It added trips bound for Mangagoy, Bislig, were rerouted to San Francisco in Agusan del Sur. As of Saturday, the NDRRMC said Bising caused P1.5 million in damage to Nurcia Integrated School Science Laboratory in Lanuza town in Surigao del Sur. — LBG, GMA News
