Storm signals lowered as 'Bising' moves north-northwest
All storm signals in the country were lowered as Tropical Depression Bising continued moving north-northwest Saturday afternoon, state weather forecasters said. PAGASA said Bising was estimated at 390 km east of Baler, Aurora as of 4 p.m., with maximum winds of 45 kph near the center. It said Bising was moving north-northwest at 22 kph and is expected to be 500 km east of Basco, Batanes by Sunday afternoon. By Monday afternoon, it is expected to be 930 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. By Tuesday morning it is expected to be 530 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan. However, while PAGASA said all storm signals had been lowered, Bising can still bring rainfall of 5 to 15 mm per hour (moderate to heavy) within its 300-km diameter. It also warned fishing boats and other small sea crafts not to venture out into the seaboards of Northern Luzon and over the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas due to Bising and the northeast monsoon. —LBG, GMA News
