Occidental Mindoro vice gov injured in LP rally

Occidental Mindoro Vice Governor Mario Gene Mendiola was injured Tuesday night during the proclamation rally of the Liberal Party (LP) in Manila. In an interview with reporters after the rally, one of LP's spokespersons, Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo, said Mendiola fell from the stage during the rally at Plaza Miranda. "Medyo natapilok siya, hindi niya napansin na mataas 'yung stage nahulog siya.  Nagkasugat siya sa kanyang ulo at nag-bleed siya," Quimbo said. "He was semi-conscious for a while but the President was with him althroughout," he added. Mendiola has been brought to the hospital but Quimbo said he is "stable now and is very conscious." "It seems like a very superficial injury so far but he will go through more tests," he said.
