Rain expected over parts of Luzon; heavy seas in parts of Luzon, Visayas
Rain is expected over parts of northern Luzon as strong winds and big waves may affect the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, state weather forecasters said Tuesday. PAGASA forecaster Buddy Javier advised fishermen and small seacraft in parts of Luzon and Visayas not to venture out to sea at this time. "Meron pang gale warning sa northern and eastern seaboard ng Luzon at eastern seaboard ng Visayas, 3.4 to 4.5 meters ang taas," Javier said in an interview on dzBB radio. He also said the northeast monsoon is still affecting Northern Luzon. PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin said the Cagayan Valley and Aurora and Quezon provinces may expect "cloudy skies with light rain." It added Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and eastern Visayas will likely have partly cloudy skies with brief light rain. "The rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," it added. Also, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Meanwhile, PAGASA said strong to gale-force northeasterly winds may affect the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Visayas. "Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — DVM, GMA News
