Kiram daughter goes on humanitarian mission in Tawi-Tawi
A daughter of Sulu Sultan Jajamul Kiram III left the sultan's house in Taguig City early Thursday to go on a "humanitarian mission" in Tawi-Tawi province. Princess Jacel Kiram went with TV personality Mariel Rodriguez, wife of actor Robin Padilla, to Tawi-Tawi on a private plane, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported. The report said Kiram's camp did not give further details of the humanitarian mission, except that Jacel and Rodriguez left before dawn. Many of Kiram's followers, led by the sultan's brother, are still in Sabah, where they are being hunted by Malaysian authorities for deadly clashes last March 1 and 2. On the other hand, Filipinos fleeing the conflict in Sabah had arrived in Tawi-Tawi Tuesday, even as prices of goods there had shot up due to the ongoing tension in Sabah. On Wednesday night, security at the Kiram home in Taguig City was tightened after suspicious-looking group of men went to their house. Kiram's household said three men introduced themselves as a TV crew and went in and out of the house. — LBG, GMA News
