Trucks carrying bodies seen exiting Sabah ops site - report
Trucks carrying black body bags believed to contain the fatalities in operations by Malaysian security forces against followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III were seen moving out of the Lahad Datu area in Sabah Sunday evening. A report on Malaysia's The Star online said at least two trucks were seen moving out of Tanduo village with the bodies "believed to be of dead gunmen." It did not say how many bodies were placed aboard the trucks. Tanduo is among the areas where Malaysian security forces are flushing out Kiram's supporters, the report added. Two armored personnel carriers were seen escorting the trucks. The convoy went to the Felda Sahabat complex where the bodies were handed over to a forensics team. Malaysian forces have been fighting a series of gun battles against Kiram's followers since March 1. Meanwhile, a separate report on The Star online quoted Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein as saying the operations against Kiram's followers will go on until all of them are captured or killed. “This is what we can promise the people, especially the widows of our fallen heroes,” he said. — DVM, GMA News
