Air carrier Cebu Pacific on Saturday canceled at least two more flights due to a runway obstruction at the Pagadian Airport. In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said it had been contacting and re-accommodating passengers affected by the airport problem, which reportedly stemmed from a land dispute. The canceled flights included:
- 5J-771: Manila to Pagadian - 5J-772: Pagadian to Manila
"We've been contacting and re-accommodating affected guests. Passengers’ options include rebooking or rerouting for travel within 30 days with no penalties, as well as full travel fund or full refund," it said. It urged passengers to also call its reservations hotline (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888 for details on their re-accommodation. A report on Radyo Mo Nationwide earlier said the obstructions were placed by the kin of one Datu Luca Taug Boto, who claims to own part of the land used by the runway. The RMN report said the problem started Thursday when Boto's relatives placed a barricade on the runway and demanded that the government pay them for the land. It added Boto's family vowed not to leave the area until they are paid. — LBG, GMA News Tags: canceledflights, cebupacific
