Cesar Montano files candidacy with Comelec

Actor Cesar Montano on Friday night filed his certificate of candidacy with the Commission on Elections as a substitute for Leyte Gov. Jericho Petilla who gave up his Senate bid in order to seek re-election in the province, DZBB radio reported. Montano was accompanied by Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Gabriel Claudio, his manager Norma Japitana and Petilla when the actor arrived at the Comelec office in Intramuros, Manila, around 7 p.m. Although the filing of certificate of candidacy for senator ended Monday, the poll body can accept substitute candidates until the last day of the campaign period.- GMANews.TV
