TD Isang makes landfall over Isabela, Signal 1 up over north Luzon

(Updated 5:12 a.m.) Tropical Depression Isang has made landfall over Estagno Point, Isabela, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 5 a.m. Weather Bulletin. As of 4 a.m. Wednesday, Isang's center was estimated to be 70 km East of Tuguegarao City. Isang is estimated to have a rainfall amount of 5–15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within its 300 km diameter, and has has maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. Forecast to move northwest at 15 kph, Tropical Depression Isang is expected to be 160 km west of Basco, Batanes by Thursday morning. By Friday morning it will be 380 km north-northwest of Basco, Batanes. Public Storm Warning Signal 1 is up over: Aurora, Quirino, Isabela, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan incl. Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands, and the Batanes Group of Islands. Isang will enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas. — DVM, GMA News
