DILG launches probe into Cotabato blast

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has launched an investigation into an explosion which killed at least eight people and injured 30 others, Malacañang said late Monday. "Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Mar Roxas has launched an investigation on the incident, sparing nothing and no one until justice is served," presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a statement. "Pananagutin ng pamahalaan ang mga kriminal na lumiligalig sa ating lipunan," added PCOO Sec. Herminio Coloma said in a separate statement. Lacierda likewise said their,"thoughts and prayers remain with those,who lost loved ones." He added that the government was committed to exhausting all efforts to investigate the crime and provide comfort and counsel to the victims. "We condemn the dastardly act perpetrated against the citizens of Cotabato City this [Monday] afternoon. Terror has no room in our society," Lacierda stressed. The Palace officials issued the statement after at a bomb killed eight people and injured 30 others in Cotabato City on Monday. — DVM, GMA News
