Floods hit parts of NCR, more passengers stranded due to Labuyo

More passengers were stranded in several major ports Sunday due to bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon Labuyo (Utor).

The Philippine Coast Guard said that as of 5 p.m., there were 7,774 passengers stranded in ports in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Bicol.

In a post on its Twitter account, the Coast Guard said a breakdown of those stranded included:

Bicol: 3,697
Southern Luzon: 2,073
Eastern Visayas: 1,533
Central Visayas: 471

As of 3 p.m., the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council had listed 7,581 stranded.

Floods in NCR

Meanwhile, rain from Labuyo brought floods to parts of Metro Manila.

As of 6:15 p.m., Mandaluyong City said floods were gutter-deep at Blk 37 in Barangay Addition Hills.

It also said floods at Sto. Niño, San Rafael, Celia, Malaya, and Sta. Lucia in Barangay Plainview were at knee level.

Earlier Sunday, floods were five inches deep at Kenneth Road corner Sandoval Avenue. — BM, GMA News
