"Initially meron tayong napaulat na tatlong nasawi, dalawa sa Pampanga at isa sa Nueva Ecija ... At may two more from Nueva Ecija," he said at a briefing, parts of which were aired on dzBB radio.

He said the first fatality from Candaba in Pampanga died from electrocution while the second was a police personnel who was buried in a mudslide in Magalang town.

A third fatality was from Jaen in Nueva Ecija, who was crushed by a fallen tree.

Balido cited a separate report indicating a 70-year-old and a seven-year-old died in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija after being crushed by a fallen tree.

Meanwhile, Balido said a preemptive evacuation was conducted in Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.
