Palace wants sanctions vs. driver who overtook PNoy convoy
Malacañang on Wednesday said it wants sanctions against the driver who overtook President Benigno Aquino III's convoy along the Skyway last week.
Last Wednesday, a driver identified as Jeffrey Roxas Chua on board his sports car reportedly weaved in and out of the presidential convoy while Aquino was on his way to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for an inspection.
Coloma said Chua not only endangered the President but also violated the speeding limit on the Skyway.
The Palace official, however, said they will not initiate the filing or charges. He said they will let authorities—among them the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Skyway Management—to do what is needed.
On Tuesday, Vice President Jejomar Binay also called on authoriteis to file charges against Chua, who reportedly used his name after being apprehended for speeding.
Chua, for his part, has denied the reports, according to an article on Top Gear. —KBK, GMA News
