Filipino mountaineer Romi Garduce on Thursday said he is all set to begin his climb to Mt. Everest, and to do that, he will be wearing high-tech extreme weather clothing which will be provided by the world-renowned outdoor gear manufacturer, The North Face, GMA7's 24 Oras reported. Garduce admitted that the high-tech gear plays a very important role in his ascent because it will protect all parts of his body from extreme coldness. Usually, temperatures on Mt. Everest decrease to -20 degree celcius and with the use of the clothing gear, Garduce’s body temperature will be abale to retain normal body condition while climbing. “This is an astronaut suit. Aside from clothing gear, Garduce will also use the different shoes and boots that will protect his foot from the ice. Meanwhile, GMA7’s Team Everest was also given mountaineering gears by The North Face for its special coverage of the Garduce expedition.-GMANews.TV
