UST grad leads 11,225 new nurses

A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas led 11,225 examinees who hurdled the Nurse Licensure Examination held across the country in May, the Professional Regulation Commission said Friday.

According to the PRC release, Ma. Margaret Benosa Sanchez from UST topped the exams with a score of 86.00.

Close behind at second place were UST's Ariel Angara Bitong Jr. and Tiffany Jeanne Dumanil Severo from University of Nueva Caceres with 85.40.

Tied at third place were Dominique Rosali Gravina Cesa from UST, Charisse Jae Rongcal Faa from Adventist University of the Philippines, and Bernard Vonn Kyle Rafols Icamen from Cebu Normal University with 85.20.

Four UST graduates shared fourth place with a score of 85.00:

  • Jeorge Aljun Gamboa Calpito
  • Katrina Maria Alexandra Pasive Geronimo
  • Sarah May Sia Janas
  • Maria Bianca Mararac Molina

At fifth place with 84.80 was Daniel Torreja Roldan of Makati Medical Center.

The PRC said the Nurse Licensure Examination was given by the Board of Nursing to 29,188 examinees in Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao,  and Zamboanga in May.

The PRC said exam passers must still take their oaths "before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice."
