TIMELINE: Enrile’s arrest for plunder case

(Updated 6:26 p.m., Sept. 2, 2014) Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile is no stranger to arrest. He has been arrested twice in 1990 and 2001, both on rebellion charges.
On Friday, however, Enrile was once again arrested, this time over a plunder case for his alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. The veteran politician is being accused of amassing P172.8 million from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) from 2004 to 2010 by supposedly diverting these allocations to fake foundations associated with alleged scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

September 16, 2013
The National Bureau of Investigation files plunder complaints against Enrile, as well as Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., in connection with the alleged pork barrel scam.
April 1, 2014
The Office of the Ombudsman announces its decision to indict three senators and Napoles with plunder and graft in connection with the supposed anomaly.
June 6, 2014
The Ombudsman files plunder charges against the three senators, Napoles and several other public officials before the Sandiganbayan.
June 9, 2014
The Ombudsman also files graft charges against Napoles and the three senators. Enrile faces 11 counts of graft.

5:30 p.m. - Enrile surrenders at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, where he underwent medical examination and booking proceedings.
6:30 p.m. - PNP spokesman Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac announces that Enrile, 90, will be confined at the PNP General Hospital.

7 a.m. - Enrile is brought to the Asian Eye Institute in Makati City to undergo procedure to address macular degeneration, which could lead to blindness if not treated.
7:40 a.m. - Enrile returns to Camp Crame after the eye procedure.

9:50 a.m. - Enrile goes back to the Asian Eye Institute for a post-operative eye checkup, which lasted for only about 10 minutes.
3:30 p.m. - Former President Ramos visits Enrile at PNP hospital. The two joined forces in 1986 to oust then-President Ferdinand Marcos.

9:20 a.m. - The Sandiganbayan issues warrants of arrest against Enrile and 25 others in connection with their multiple graft cases filed in connection with his alleged misuse of his pork barrel funds.
10 a.m. - Enrile asks the Sandiganbayan to temporarily place him under hospital arrest at the PNP General Hospital pending the resolution of his motion for bail.

10 a.m. - The Sandiganbayan Third Division on Tuesday orders the prosecution to organize its presentation of the 9,000-page case pertaining to the plunder and graft charges filed against Enrile in connection with his alleged involvement in the pork barrel fund scam.
6 p.m. - Enrile undergoes a two-dimensional echocardiogram (2D Echo) with doppler to get a clear picture of his heart and assess the flow of blood through and out of his arteries following a recommendation from his physicians at the PNP General Hospital in Camp Crame where he is confined.
