NDRRMC: Glenda death toll now at 94
The death toll from Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun) neared the 100 mark as it reached 94 as of Sunday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC said six people are missing, while 317 were injured from Ilocos, Central and Southern Luzon, Bicol, Western and Eastern Visayas and Metro Manila.
Many of the recent fatalities were from Quezon, Laguna, Batangas, and Sorsogon.
At least 330,433 families or 1,600,298 people were affected in Ilocos, Central and Southern Luzon, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Metro Manila.
Of these, 97,055 families or 518,764 people are being served in 1,264 evacuation centers.
Lifelines
At least 12 roads and three bridges in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol and Cordillera are impassable.
Power has been restored in Aurora and in San Luis, Lemery, Batangas City and Tanauan in Batangas province.
Damage
Damage to property was estimated at P7,333,730,288.12, including P1,004,968,460.95 in infrastructure and P6,301,470,711.17 in agriculture.
