64-year-old woman dies in QC fire

A 64-year-old woman was killed after being trapped inside her burning house in a predawn fire that struck Payatas village in Quezon City Sunday. Radio dzBB cited initial reports identifying the victim as Valeriana Sanchez, whom arson investigators said was sleeping inside her house on Davao Street. Firefighters said the fire started at 2:30 a.m. and was placed under control at 3 a.m. It reached only the first alarm. Firefighters said the fire started in Sanchez’s house. Neighbors alerted firemen to the blaze after noticing smoke coming out of Sanchez’s house. Firefighters, citing neighbors’ testimonies, said Sanchez lived alone in her house. - GMANews.TV
