AFP to probe alleged military hazing video
The Armed Forces of the Philippines will investigate a viral video showing what seemed to be acts of hazing on newly-recruited soldiers, a television report said.
In a report shown on GMA News' Saksi Thursday night, AFP public affairs chief Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc said the military has long removed hazing in their training.
"Kung tunay 'yan na sundalo, posibleng mapaparusahan dahil ang mga nakikita na ginawa doon ay pang-aabuso doon," he said.
"Kung may mahuli na nagpapasaway, at nahuli talaga sila, gumagawa pa rin sila ng ganoon, ng bad practices, mapaparusahan sila," Cabunoc added, noting that the video looked old.
The video, titled "Ultimate Military Training of the Philippines," which went viral on the Internet, shows men in camouflage uniform being harassed and beaten by men also in military uniforms, and some in civilian clothing. — with Amanda Fernandez/RSJ, GMA News
