Militant groups on Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of the Hacienda Luisita massacre with a picket seeking justice for seven farmers gunned down in the 2004 incident.
The protesters held an ecumenical service outside the hacienda's Gate 1, youth group Anakbayan's Vencer Crisostomo said.
Crisostomo's Instagram photo showed some protesters attending the service.
One of the placards bore the message "Tunay na reproma sa lupa ipaglaban!"
Another photo showed placards bearing the images of those killed.
"Today is the 10th anniversary of the Hacienda Luisita massacre. Seven deaths, zero convictions," said Bagong Alyansang Makabayan secretary general Renato Reyes Jr.
On November 16, 2004, seven farmers pressing for land reform in the Tarlac hacienda owned by the family of President Benigno Aquino III were killed near the gate of the sugar mill there, in what is now known as the Luisita massacre.
Presidendet Aquino was a congressman representing Tarlac in the House of Representatives at the time the massacre. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
