Libanan is new immigration chief

Malacañang appointed Marcelino Libanan as new chief of the Commission on Immigration and Deportation. Libanan, former Eastern Samar congressman, replaced Alipio Fernandez, Jr, radio dzBB reported on Wednesday. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo earlier considered Libanan for the solicitor general post, but she eventually decided to appoint lawyer Agnes Devanadera.
