As the holidays draw even closer, the Philippine National Police advised the public to be wary of the so-called Pitas Gang.
The gang particularly targets commuters on provincial and city buses, jeepneys and tricycles, state-run Philippine Information Agency reported.
PIA said the PNP warned the gang would particularly target passengers near the windows of public buses, jeepneys, and tricycles.
Members of the group particularly target wristwatches, necklaces, rings, mobile phones and hand bags.
They even grab the ears of women and young girls before taking their earrings, or snatch bracelets from their wrists, the PNP said.
