Supporters of reelectionist Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom" Echiverri rejoiced Monday night over the forthcoming victory of their candidate. GMA News’ Saksi reported that based on the 90 to 95 percent of election returns canvassed from the city, Echiverri topped the mayoral race with 71, 499 votes. Behind him are Luis “Baby"Asistio with 60,607 votes and Rey Malonzo with 20,324 votes. Lawyer Juliet Villar, chairman of Caloocan’s board of canvassers said Echiverri could be proclaimed on Tuesday. Meanwhile, hundreds of supporters of Pasig City mayoral candidate Robert “Dodot" Jaworski Jr massed up along Ortigas road to protest the proclamation of their candidate’s rival, Roberto “Bobby" Eusebio. The assembly paralyzed traffic along Ortigas according to Saksi. The anti-riot policemen led by the SWAT team and firemen went to the area to prevent any untoward incident. The supporters peacefully left the area after the police requested them to do so. - GMANews.TV
