Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday said there seemed to be pressure to stop the hearings on the Mamasapano incident.
Cayetano made the remark a day after the House of Representatives suspended its inquiry on the controversy.

“Mahirap naman magsalita nang hindi personal yung experience pero masasabi mo na may nararamdaman ka na gustong hindi na mag-hearing o may nararamdaman ka na uncomfortable na,” Cayetano said.
Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, in a separate interview, said the House would continue its investigation in two weeks after the PNP's Board of Inquiry finished its own probe.

Asked who will benefit if ever the congressional hearings stop, Cayetano said it would be Malacanang.
“Definitey yung Palasyo (ang magbebenefit) kasi lumalabas na may mga tanong na hindi nila nasasagot,” he said in a radio interview.
He instead recommended Palace officials to listen to the hearings and answer the questions the resource persons cannot answer.
“Maraming katanungan na hindi masagot, after the hearing ang Presidente na mismo or kanyang representative (should) fill in the blanks. Kung ayaw nila na dumami ang spekulasyon, ayaw nila ng kung ano anong sinasabi, sila na ang magsalita mismo,” he said.
The senator said among the questions yet to be answered are what time the president was informed of the operation, what did he say and what were his orders.
“So baka mas maganda na sila na ang mag-step in at sagutin ito para mabuo yung kwento,” he said.
Sen. Grace Poe assured the public Tuesday that there would be no-cover up on the Senate’s probe on the Jan. 25 Mamasapano clash that left over 60 people, including 44 PNP-Special Action Force commandos, dead.
“Pangalan naman namin ang nakataya dito. Hindi namin gagamitin ang executive session para lamang maisalba ang mga indibidwal at ang itinatago lang namin, kung saka-sakali, ay mga impormasyon na maaaring makaapekto sa seguridad ng pangkalahatan,” Poe told reporters after the closed-door hearing with PNP Intelligence Group head Director Fernando Mendez.

The executive session started at 1:05 pm. The senators temporarily suspended their executive session to attend the plenary session around 3 pm. After less than 30 minutes, the senators adjourned the plenary session to resume the executive session with resigned Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima.
It was the third time the senators held an executive session in looking into the Mamasapano clash.
The first was conducted on Feb. 12 attended by PO2 Christopher Lalan, who was part of the 55th Company and Supt. Raymond Train, who was part of the group that attacked the house where Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan was hiding.
On Monday, it was the turn of relieved PNP-Special Action Force chief Director Getulio Napeñas to discuss the incident behind closed-doors. —NB, GMA News
