A man, claiming to be the person who uploaded the gruesome video of the Mamasapano clash, on Wednesday presented himself to the National Bureau of Investigation's in Davao City.

The viral video started with an image of one of the police commandos lying in what looked like a cornfield being shot twice by a gunman armed with a pistol.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima earlier said the NBI has already identified the person and the place where the viral video had been uploaded.

De Lima said the video would have to be authenticated for eventual presentation as evidence in the criminal case that could stem from the Mamasapano incident, where more than 60 people including 44 members of the police's Special Action Force were killed.

Dante Gierran, regional director of NBI Region 9, said the man went to their office at around 9 a.m. and left two hours later at around 11 a.m. after being interviewed by NBI agents.

The name of the uploader isn't immediately available.

"Voluntarily dumating siya dito at sinabi niya na hindi siya ang original source ng video," Gierran told GMA News Online in an interview.

Gierran said "unless there is obscene publication," charges will most likely not be pressed against the man.

"But it is still up for the NBI Manila unit (to decide), kasi kaso nila iyon," Gierran said.

De Lima earlier indicated that the person who took the video could be involved in the killing that was seen on the video.

Earlier, NBI agents have already interviewed Zaldy Suson from Kidapawan City in Cotabato province regarding the video.

It was in Suson's social media account that the video was first seen before getting viral.

"Warning-Graphic Video: Videos that contain graphic content can shock, offend, and upset. Are you sure you want to see this?" it said at the start of the video.

"Iyong mag-asawang Suson, Arlen and Zaldy ang taga-Kidapawan (at) ang unang ni-locate namin," said Gierran. —NB, GMA News
