PNP inquiry body investigating Mamasapano clash probes Ground Zero
(Updated 9:20 a.m.) A Philippine National Police inquiry board headed Tuesday for Ground Zero of the Jan. 25 clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao that killed 44 Special Action Force troopers and 18 Moro Islamic Liberation Front fighters.
The PNP Board of Inquiry hopes to get a complete picture of the incident before it finalizes its report, radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu reported.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group head Director Benjamin Magalong and the board arrived in General Santos City at 7:30 a.m., GMA News' Maki Pulido tweeted.
From General Santos City, the team will head for Mamasapano.

The Jan. 25 incident triggered an outpouring of sympathy from Filipinos for the SAF and MILF fighters killed in the clash.
An updated report by GMA News' Pulido on GMA News TV's News to Go said the PNP inquiry board is not likely to head first to the hut where suspected international bomber Marwan was killed.
Marwan was one of the targets in the Jan. 25 operation.
