Instead of continuing her testimony Monday, pork barrel scam whistleblower Merlina Suñas stayed home to recuperate.
In her place, the prosecution panel presented a medical certificate which said Suñas was diagnosed with severe fatigue.
In her place, the prosecution panel presented a medical certificate which said Suñas was diagnosed with severe fatigue.
"This is to certify that Mrs. Merlina P. Suñas, 62, female, was seen at my clinic today for fatigue due to severe stress. She was advised complete rest for five to seven days," wrote Dr. Lia Palileo-Villanueva of the Philippine General Hospital's internal medicine and adult diseases section.
Suñas was supposed to continue her testimony on the alleged involvement of detained Sen. Jinggoy Estrada with the multi million peso pork barrel scam.
Instead of Suñas, the bail hearing proceeded with Anti Money Laundering Council investigator Orlando Negradas serving as witness for the prosecution.
In addition to testifying for the prosecution, Suñas also sits as witness in the bail hearings of Napoles in her case with the third division. Suñas was seen coughing several times during her Friday testimony.
Suñas, who served as Napoles' assistant, turned state witness after the scam was exposed.
She earlier testified that she transferred P10 million to the bank account of Juan Ng, an alleged dummy of Estrada. —NB, GMA News
