The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Tuesday afternoon submitted a copy of its report on the January 25 Mamasapano incident to the Senate.

“I respectfully submit herewith a copy of the full report of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) investigation on the Mamasapano incident, in response to your request for said submittal in your letter dated 09 March 2015,” MILF chairman peace panel chairman Mohagher Iqbal said in a letter attached to the 35-page Mamasapano incident report.
The report was submitted to the office of Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who heads the Senate committee on local government.

“We trust that this report is treated with fairness, and we hope that all the information stated therein will be helpful in your evaluation of the incident,” Iqbal added in his letter.

Marcos, whose  committee is hearing the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) has earlier required the MILF furnish his committee a copy of its report on the Mamasapano incident before the committee resumes its hearing on the proposed measure.

Marcos suspended the hearings on the BBL after the bloody Mamasapano incident which cost the lives of 67 people including 44 police commandos, 18 MILF members and five civilians.

Marcos has earlier slammed the MILF after its pronouncement that its report will first be submitted to Malaysia instead of the Senate. —KG/TJD, GMA News
