Detained Genuine Opposition (GO) candidate Antonio Trillanes IV’s proclamation was again stalled by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) due to uncanvassed votes from three provinces in Mindanao. Comelec spokesman James Jimenez told radio dzMM on Wednesday that the poll body is not poised to announce the exact date of Trillanes' proclamation because votes that will come from Maguindanao, Surigao del Norte and some parts of Lanao del Sur may still affect his standing. Comelec’s partial, official tally as of June 11, showed that 11th placer Trillanes’ lead over 12th placer Aquilino “Koko" Pimentel III, also a GO bet, is 284,231 votes. Jimenez said Trillanes’ ranking and standing “can be still be affected" by about 600,000 votes that will come from the three provinces. - GMANews.TV
