Police rounded up as many as 100 people in a raid on a suspected "shabu tiangge" in Manila's historic Intramuros district Thursday morning. Radio dzBB reported that Manila Police District (MPD) District Anti-Drugs Division (DAID) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members swooped on the area along Real Street. The compound was suspected to be used as a marketplace for illegal drugs, including methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). As of 11 a.m., SWAT operatives in full battle gear were still searching some houses believed used by drug dealers in the area. The dzBB report cited initial police reports indicating that some of those rounded up are in the police drug "watch list." - GMANews.TV
