2 Aparri, Cagayan fatalities due to Dodong – NDRRMC

Some two Aparri, Cagayan residents were fatally electrocuted as Typhoon Dodong lashed northeastern Luzon Sunday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported.

According to the NDRRMC, 74-year-old Rogelio Paa and 46-year-old Neil Paa were electrocuted while  trying to repair ttheir roof. They were brought to the Bangag Medicare Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

The NDRRMC also reported that 36 plantation workers at the Bio-Ethanol Plantation were rescued by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, with support from the Army's 8th Infantry Battalion, at 8:05 a.m. Sunday.

Meanwhile, 928 families or 3,443 people were preemptively evacuated in Isabela and Cagayan.

However, evacuees from Benito Soliven, Dinapigue, Divilacan, Maconacon and Palanan in Isabela have returned to their homes.

The NDRRMC also said that by 4 p.m. Sunday, there were no longer any stranded passenger in major ports. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
